“Anything I tell you would be just totally wasting your time if you just sitting there listen passively.”
I agreed with this statement above because anything we learn during a seminar or a lecture, if we just sitting there and listen passively, no matter how valuable of the material we listen, we are not retained it. Sometimes we will think that by writing some notes, we are learning actively. But, is it active enough? It is because no matter how enjoyable or how excited during the time we listen to the talk, if we just sitting there passively, we are actually not apply it though we have the notes of it. According to the research said by him, if we just learn passively, within 4 weeks we just remember 10% of what he said. It is the information we adopt does not retained. Furthermore, he said by writing notes maybe we can remember 30-40% of the content. But if we can yawn back the answer physically, maybe we can recover it to 85%.
“When the bell rang, what should we do? We are trained to report to our desk, sit down there and shut up.”
This is the common things we done in 20th century, even in 21th century now. We cannot talk to neighbors, cannot do anything until we are told to do so. Later we will found out that the lecture or class is…boring, all we can depend is just the notes after the class. This kind of learning will not contribute much in the process or learning.
“but today if we are talking about business, if you didn’t talk you are out of business; if you are waiting someone else to tell what we suppose to do, someone else will be more succeeded than us, how many of you agree with me say “I ” ”.
“I”~ I agree with it because nowadays we need to learn, in a new way, in a more interactive way, much more active and aggressive, where student can approach teacher easier, asking more questions such as how are we going to apply it in our daily life and etc. The most important part during learning process is we need to talk more, think more and have more discussions.
“I don’t believe in positive thinking, I believe in what we seen, but not make it worst.” I agree with this because most of the people will try to think the worst things that can happen to them. It is because by thinking using this way, they assume they are prepared for the worst condition. However, if we over doing it, it will become a obstacles for us.
As a conclusion, if we want to learn more, we may be can learn like a kid, they not worried to fail, if they fail down they will get up again
2) Sir Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity?

“If you are not prepared to be wrong, you will not come out anything that original.”
But, in the process of grown up, mistakes are the worst things you can make. This means that if we are a teacher, we are educating people out of their creative capacity. It is because we try as much effort as possible not to make mistakes, especially during examinations. Our education system is designed in a way that everyone should come out as a professor. I agree with what he said that the children start school today, year 2010, they will live until, let say 2070. So what we learning today actually need to prepare us for the future. However, we cannot imagine what the future like is, but we can if we have the power of creativity. Teachers or lecturers may be cannot see the future personally, but the younger generation will, and teachers’ jobs is to help them make something of it. Hence, it is important that we emphasize both academic subject and also those subjects where they need a lot of imagination and creativity.
“All children are born artist.”
Sir Ken Robinson believes if we are not grow into creativity we are grow out of it. No one says each of us must be engineer, doctor or scientist or anything that related to academic, there are a huge number of people out there, very successful in their own field, whether in the field of music, dance or acting. However, our education system has done a deep impact in all of us, including our parents who have “old” thoughts, for example, if we study about music or acting, they will ask ”can you earn money with what you had learned?”. I agree that the main purpose of education is creates a better future, have a better living with a good job. But, sometimes it just educates us in a way that, let say, we should not study it if the benefit gained is not much, especially some subjects like art or moral principles.
Imagine, if we not dare to dream, not dare to be creative, what will happen in the future; if the Wright brothers not dare to be creative and dare to dream to fly like a bird, I think today we will not have ”Airasia: Now everyone can fly”.
3) Mario Teguh: The Golden Ways

From the video, he said that choose the leader who can “bicara” (discuss) but not the one that only “pidato” (debate) because the one who know debate will not discuss when come to the topic about raising the tax. He also said that the leader should discuss the things that he can really do, not the things he cannot does. However, I have 2 different opinions about this. First one is, for the leader going for an election, if he discuss the things he can really do, I think it is great since the things he promises really can be done in the future. The second opinion is if a leader does not discuss a dream, a very good future plan or vision, something that he cannot realises in a short period (now), it is not a good leader also. But, overall I prefer a leader that keeps the promise and do all his best to achieve it.
I also agree that we should not expect other people to provide all the money or wealth especially when we choose a leader. For example, if a leader does not win the election, a violence way to express the feel of losing is really bad.
“How can we manage to success in a surrounding that not allow us to success?”
This is a question by a woman who attends the talk. Mario Teguh said that if a boy who lack of proper education, does not has the modal but still success in life, that is called success; if a person have all the proper education and the modal, if he success, this is called compulsory. In my opinion, it is true that a person shall grab all the opportunity in his life, not just waiting there doing nothing. Success in education does not mean that we had success in life, but fail in education also does not means that we cannot try to achieve success again. I believe if we have a dream or ambition, we should try our best to achieve it.
